BREAKING NEWS: Marton Nagy, Hungary’s Minister of Fiscal Optimism announced that Hungary will take advantage of the sudden fall of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
“We have a new and innovative asset” the Mr. Nagy told to reporters.
The Hungarian Forint, the much-beaten Hungarian currency shall become the world’s first “cleptocurrency”.
As the country moves towards barter trades and informal introduction of euro as a legal tender the Forint will only be used by the government to announce nominal raises of wages. These raises will of course exclude members of the police and teachers.
The 13th amendment of the Basic Law of Hungary, to be introduced this July will freeze their salaries indefinitely as a revenge on the infamous Gyurcsány-cabinet. The so-called “rezsi” (special term in Hungarian for utility costs and the price of chicken backs) will also be frozen as these are paid by the Tax Against The Evil Soros.
Mr. Nagy stressed that all this is done to observe Hungarian traditions, especially the Great Financial Innovations of 1946.
To round up his press conference, the minister took out a trumpet, played a bossa nova and flew away with Spanish-speaking bats.
